Staring April 5th, 2016, the Kiwanis Club of Shawnee will be meeting on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month, instead of every week. If there is a 5th Tuesday in a month, we will hold a meeting on that day as well.
We will now be holding the meetings at The Big Biscuit 12276 Shawnee Mission Parkway, starting at noon.

The Kiwanis Club of Shawnee is proud to participate in a program administered by one of our members, Marcia Merrick. Marcia is president of Reaching Out, Inc., providing food and other items to the homeless of Kansas City. She has been very active in this endeavor for many years and we are glad to support her. The Kiwanis Club of Shawnee, as well as other local civic organizations, have assisted by providing her with jars of peanut butter so she can make and deliver up to 300 sack lunches a day to people in need.
In addition, our Key Club service leadership organization at Shawnee Mission Northwest High School assists Marcia by doing projects such as baking cookies, providing notes of encouragement and decorating the paper sacks that Marcia uses to hand out meals to the homeless.

Thank you, Doug ! You did an excellent job in organizing the Gala. We hope this turns out to be an annual or semiannual event in the future. The first Gala Celebration was attended very well by members of our club and several spouses.
The Shawnee Mission North Strolling Strings provided the entertainment for the evening and they did an excellent job.
