New meeting schedule

Staring April 5th, 2016, the Kiwanis Club of Shawnee will be meeting on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month, instead of every week.  If there is a 5th Tuesday in a month, we will hold a meeting on that day as well.

We will now be holding the meetings at The Big Biscuit 12276 Shawnee Mission Parkway, starting at noon.

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world, one child and one community at a time.

New State and District Leadership

Our Governer and Lt. Governer (Mary Hammond and,  Pat Hurrelbrink respectively) visited with us today. Mary gave us a review of where we are and where we’re going at the state level. She spoke of the chance to redirect our support from the failed victory junction project to the rock springs youth camp. New efforts to grow membership are being implemented. The eliminate projct is going well. She claims you’ll be able to see us singing ‘Shawnee’ on the KS District Facebook page!

ReEngage Staffing Services

Rodney Knott, CEO, shared the story of ReEngage staffing services. They’re dedicated to fostering the reconnection of the black male with they’re children through outreach,  counseling,  education,  and preparation. As part of their program they offer a construction labor staffing solution that helps meet Section 3 requirements.
